Double braid nylon, also known as braid on braid nylon, is actually two braided ropes combined into one rope. A braided core is covered with a braided jacket to produce a strong, easy to handle rope. This rope is spliceable and very strong. Nylon double braid is the preferred choice for applications requiring high strength with excellent shock absorbing properties. Nylon double braid has good resistance to abrasion, sunlight and chemicals.

Diamond braid is constructed with strands of fiber braided over and under each other in a circular direction. The middle of the rope has a center core of parallel fibers. This braid is generally stronger than solid braid, but not as strong as twisted or double braid.

Solid braid ropes are constructed of various bundles of fiber interlocked together in a circular braiding pattern. Nylon is resistant to abrasion, chemicals, and marine organisms, and is among the strongest of rope fibers. This smooth, round, firm braid holds its shape well under pressure and load. It stays flexible and knots easily even after prolonged use. An excellent choice for pulleys, blocks, sheaves, and winches or wherever a firm round rope is needed. Solid braid is not as strong as other braids, nor is it spliceable. Other uses include anchor, mooring, dock lines, and as a general utility rope.
