What Are The Different Types of Industrial Conveyors?

Low-Duty Conveyors

Small and lightweight conveyors are ideal for small items such as small parts, pharmaceutical, medical, mail and parcel sorting and other small/lightweight items.  Options vary by configuration:

Load Capacity: Generally around 50lbs per foot, varies by model.
Speed: 80 ft/min - 400 ft/min
Materials: Made from Aluminum, plastic, or light-gauge steel frames.
Common Types:  Fabric or modular belt  conveyors, roller conveyors (gravity-fed or motorized)

Models from Dorner include:

  • Miniature Conveyor 1100 series:  Ideal for loads up to 15lbs, Speeds up to 80 ft/min, fabric belt
  • Low-Profile Conveyor 2200 Series: Suitable for loads up to 120lbs, capable of inclines and declines, fabric or modular belt

Medium-Duty Conveyors

Ideal for moderate-weight products, cartons and mixed packaging like beverage bottling, canning, manufacturing lines, carton handling and case packing. Options vary by configuration:

Materials: Made from heavier-gauge steel or aluminum for durability.
